What size NextGen screen should I purchase, the 96 inch or 121 inch screen?  What type of projectors works best with each ?

4Panes system is designed to eliminate all the uncertainty when buying a home theater system.

How? By providing our customers with a grey screen that works great whether the lights are on or off.

Every room has a different amount of ambient light. Our shade of grey has been designed and tested to deliver a great image in both a typical living room (a medium lit room).and lower lit den or basement  Our system gives you flexibilty to set your home theater in almost any room in the house.

By choosing a screen size first, you dramatically reduce the number of potential wrong choices when buying a projector.

How? A projector is designed to work with a certain screen size from a given distance to be compatible.  By determining the screen size and projector placement first, the number of compatible projectors is narrowed.  This certainty eliminates the need to understand the compatibility of which projector works with which screen size in your house.

We recommend specific projectors which are compatible with each screen size from three different projector placements.

The system is as simple as:

1)      Choose either our big screen or really big screen.

2)      Decide where you will want to place your projector

a.       5 to 6 feet from screen

b.      10 to 12 feet from screen

c.       15 to 16 feet from screen

That’s it, two simple decisions.  All our projector recommendations have been tested with real customers in real homes.

Choosing the right type of projector

A year's experience with buying and using various projectors has resulted in the following logical order for determining the right type of projector for your viewing area.

Contrast Ratio

Contrast ratio is a measure of number of colors and shades the projector can produce at one time. It is contrast that gives us great detail and richness to an image.

Less expensive projectors will produce a 5,000 to 1 contrast ratio. Moderately priced projectors will produce a 10,000 - 15,000 to 1 contrast ratio. The more expensive projectors should be producing a 20,000 - 1,000,000 to 1 contrast ratio for the money.

Resolution is the number of lines of pixels that make up the image.  1080 is minimum resolution to use.  At this point in time there is not enough live content to warrant paying up for a 4k projector.

Lumens is a measure of brightness.  3000 to 4000 is suitable for use in any dim lit room.
